“I went to Iguassu Falls.” You just can affirm it if you also visit the city of Puerto Iguazú, in the state of Misiones in Argentina, where is located the Iguazú National Park, the shelter of the Iguazú Falls. The attraction is shared with the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu, with its attractiveness of equal beauty, but with completely different feelings, therefore: will meet the Falls? Meet altogether!
In Foz do Iguaçu, visitors walk the trails with the best view of the Falls. Throughout the stretch are sighted the main falls which are on the Argentine side. Already in Puerto Iguazú, every track stretch of a discovery, paths lead the visitor to areas in the proximity of the falls is very large. To a greater extent, the attractiveness of the Iguazú Park require a longer visit, and of course, a much longer walk.
In the visit to the Iguazú Park, entry allows the visitor to go through all the contemplation of activities, they are: Interpretation Center, Greenway Ecological Jungle Train, Higher Circuit, Lower Circuit and the Garganta del Diablo.
Soon after passing through the Visitor Center – room for purchasing tickets and souvenirs – the first stop is at the Interpretation Centre “Yvyrá Retá” which in the native Guarani language means “the country of the trees.” The site was created for the visitor to reflect on the conservation, general aspects of the area, the local nature concepts, its climate and geology, resources imperceptible to the naked eye, such as endangered species, conservation issues and the history of the place.
Following the tour there are two options: the Ecological Train or the Green Path.
The Green Path is a trail through the subtropical forest, where visitors can walk without difficulty to the train station of the Falls. With a length of 655 meters, the path is fully accessible. By the way, a wide variety of plant species, identified and interpretive information throughout the route. It is common spotting birds, raccoons and monkeys.
The other option is the Ecological Jungle Train, which was developed exclusively for the walk in the park by the English company Alan Keef Limited (specialist in drive trains for other parks in Asia and Europe). Driven liquid petroleum gas (LPG), which does not contaminate the environment and not let solid waste, the train moves at about 18 km / H, with a noise impact and providing a contemplative walk to up to 250 passengers, as the wagons are opened in bib style.
Leaving the Central Station every 20 minutes or less depending on the demand, the Ecological Train follows for two seasons. The first in Falls Station – providing access to the Upper and Lower circuits and the crossing of the San Martin Island. The second in the Devil’s Throat station – access to catwalk over Iguaçu River and leads to the main falls which names the station.
If you choose to start your ride last season, will go through the first 1100 meters of walkways, this totally over the river and leading to one of the most impressive sights from around the attraction: the Devil’s Throat. At the end of tread an observatory allows visitors approach the most important and voluminous among the 275 of the Falls. With more than 80 meters high, the impressive fall is exactly on the border between Brazil and Argentina.
Back to Cataratas Station, get ready for more walking and many photographs. The Superior circuit allows a panoramic view of the set of waterfalls. Begins with waterfall Two Sisters and ends the viewpoint of Mbigua waterfall, the path the heels Chico, Ramírez, Bossetti, Adam and Eve and Guardaparque Bernabé Mendez, complete the picture.
After all this, if you still have breath, another runway awaits you. The Lower Circuit is an immersion in this jungle around Iguazu National Park. Are 1700 meters, the way the jumps Two Sisters, Chico and Ramirez, are presented in a surprising way and almost at hand. The path ends at the Space Jump Bosseti, a place that will give you great pictures and a rain shower formed by the force of the falls and the wind.
